Employment as an independent contractor, under a food service agreement, requires submission of a proposal for the kitchen operations.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency required with 3 years of progressively responsible kitchen management experience. Formal culinary training a plus.

EMANON COUNTRY CLUB JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Chef
Reports to: Chair, Clubhouse Committee and/or Club Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages, supervises and coordinates the kitchen operations for the Emanon County Club (ECC). Has sole responsibility for the kitchen operations. Coordinates the catering and food activities, the acquisition of food items and functionally supervises the activities of other employees engaged in similar work.
Develops implements and monitors the operations of the ECC to include catering and food service operations.
Develops, implements and monitors the standards of service for food service operations. Coordinates catering activities to ensure that a high quality of production and service is consistently maintained; regularly evaluates food services and determines the means by which to upgrade the quality of catered events.
Develops orientation programs for all kitchen personnel to cover procedures, methods and standards; designs and conducts training programs for all kitchen staff and evaluates employees performance.
Plan and coordinate the details of catered events to include determining specifications and quantities of goods to order, determining resources needed, scheduling space and communicating menu information, and the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Works, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, to develop pricing policy and price lists for club and catered events. Explains and justifies charges to clients.
Develops and implements plans for marketing the ECC dining room, develops brochures, pamphlets and other marketing tools, as needed.
Develops and monitors budgets and sales goals related to food costs; coordinates inventory needs with menu forecasts. Prepares operational reports and analyses, as needed.
Directs and/or arranges for the maintenance and care of kitchen facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials in a manner which promotes efficiency, health, and safety.
Maintains food production records, and reports as required.
Orders food items directly from suppliers; evaluates suppliers to determine the best and most cost-effective sources of specific items.
Oversees other employees engaged in similar or related duties.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED with three years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Ability to obtain State of Pennsylvania Food Handler's Certificate, where applicable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control. Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Skill in enforcing sanitary practices, maintenance and regulatory compliance for the kitchen area. Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods. Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials. Ability to supervise and train assigned staff. Organizing and coordinating skills. Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties; ability to provide or arrange for training. Records maintenance skills. Ability to lead and train staff and/or students.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Second Club Individual Golf Membership
The Second Club Individual Golf membership is available to adults over 22 years of age and who already hold a full golf membership at another golf/country club. Second Club Individual Membership entitles the member to use of the clubhouse facilities and limited Golf Playing Privileges (35 rounds per year). Only 20 memberships will be available in this category. The 2014 annual dues for a Second Club Individual Golf membership are $500. Second Club Individual Members also have a $100 Food Assessment.
Spousal/Significant Other Golf Membership
Spousal/Significant Other Golf Membership is available to Associate Members over 22 years of ages as follows:
Unrestricted Spousal Golf Membership-$400 per year (Full Golf Privileges)
Restricted Spousal Golf Membership-$300 (Limited Golf Privileges to 15 rounds per year)
Emanon CC is a semi-private golf club featuring an 18-hole course with an irrigation system, situated on 154 acres. Whether a beginner or low handicap golfer, Emanon CC offers everyone a challenging and fun round of golf.
